Why Class IV?

Valerie is committed to therapies that are grounded in rigorous science, free of unnecessary risk, and genuinely transformative for the patient. Class IV laser therapy checks every one of these boxes.

Evidence-Based at Every Level

With more than 12,000 published studies and a track record spanning over two decades since FDA clearance in 2003, Class IV laser therapy is among the best-documented modalities in physical medicine. Our protocols are built directly from peer-reviewed research — not anecdote. Every treatment parameter we use traces back to published clinical data.

Drug-Free and Non-Invasive

Our patients often come to us after years of managing chronic pain with pharmaceuticals, or seeking to avoid surgery. Class IV laser therapy offers a clinically validated path to meaningful pain relief and healing without drugs, without injections, and without recovery time. For a practice committed to reducing pharmaceutical dependence and optimizing natural healing, this technology is a natural fit.

Deep Tissue Reach That Other Modalities Cannot Match

Many conditions — lumbar disc involvement, hip joint pathology, deep rotator cuff injuries — are simply beyond the reach of surface-level therapies. Class IV lasers, with their ability to deliver therapeutic energy up to 10 centimeters deep, make it possible to treat the actual source of a patient's pain rather than its surface expression.

Superior Outcomes vs. Lower-Power Alternatives

In direct comparisons with Class III (cold) laser therapy, Class IV HILT consistently demonstrates greater pain reduction, greater functional improvement, and higher rates of clinically meaningful response — sometimes by as much as 50% in outcome measure improvement. For our patients, this translates to fewer sessions needed, faster return to activity, and greater overall satisfaction.

A Versatile Platform for the Whole Patient

From acute sports injuries to chronic arthritis, from post-surgical rehabilitation to peripheral neuropathy, Class IV laser therapy addresses a remarkable breadth of clinical conditions within a single platform. This versatility allows Seven Elements to offer consistent, high-quality care across the diverse needs of our patient population without requiring a separate modality for every condition.

Integrates Seamlessly with Other Therapies

Class IV laser therapy does not compete with other evidence-based interventions — it amplifies them. Combined with exercise rehabilitation, manual therapy, chiropractic adjustments, or other wellness protocols, PBM consistently produces superior outcomes compared to either modality alone. Seven Elements incorporates laser therapy as a cornerstone of our integrated care model.

Patient Experience and Retention

Patients remember how a therapy feels. Class IV laser therapy — warm, relaxing, fast, and effective — generates some of the highest patient satisfaction scores of any physical medicine intervention. Positive experiences drive compliance, completion of treatment courses, and long-term practice loyalty.

Valerie Krossin

As a nurse and educator with over 16 years of experience in the field of photobiomodulation (PBM), I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of this innovative therapy on pain, healing and sports recovery and performance enhancement. As the Educational Director and Senior Account Manager for industry leaders ASPEN Laser and TheraLight, I have been instrumental in forming strategic alliances with health professionals, businesses, individuals and professional and collegiate teams.

PBM harnesses the power of specific wavelengths of light, particularly in the red and near-infrared spectrum, to stimulate cellular processes such as ATP production, enhance mitochondrial function, reduce inflammation, promote tissue repair, and modulate biological responses like gene expression and ion channel activity. These benefits make near-infrared light a versatile tool in PBM, with applications ranging from athlete recovery and performance improvement and pain management to potential treatments for complex neurological conditions.

My unique perspective, combining over two decades of nursing experience with expertise in cutting-edge PBM technology, has allowed me to bridge the gap between clinical practice and sports medicine. This is evident in my recent work, including an abstract accepted by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS) for E-Poster Presentation on Transcranial PBM for treating neurodegenerative diseases.

As the field of PBM continues to evolve, I remain committed to advancing its science and application in sports medicine. We are opening new frontiers in athletic performance and recovery, providing athletes with safe, effective, and non-invasive methods to optimize their potential.
